Well Winter CampaignPosted by Stewardship Team, 28th January, 2021
We know that the winter months can be tough and we want to do everything we can to help.
Our Well Winter campaign aims to ensure no-one goes without enough food, warmth or essential items in our communities.
We will do this by working with partner organisations in Birmingham and Telford and by giving you direct assistance where needed.
If you are struggling to pay your gas or electric costs, your energy supplier or local council may be able to help by giving you a free top-up. We may also be able to assist you directly, please contact us.
Keeping everyone eating well
Having enough for everyone to eat can be a real challenge, especially if your income has reduced due to Covid. There are local foodbanks that can help and you can find out more about this on our Food Support page. We may also be able to help directly, please contact us.
Keeping financially fit
Making sure your rent / mortgage and bills are paid can seem daunting if things are stretched financially. We will direct you to organisations that can help like the ones on our Debt Support and Borrowing page and if you are struggling to pay your rent or other BVT charges, we can advise you. We will look at whether you could apply for benefits, as well as helping you deal with debt or other financial issues. Contact our friendly income team will see how we can help. We can also call you back if needed.
Looking for a job?
Covid has had a massive effect on jobs and incomes, with many people facing reduced hours, being laid off work or losing jobs altogether. Local councils are working with the government and agencies to help people find work or training/education opportunities. To find out more about the support available, go to our Help Finding Work page.
Worried about debt?
Being in debt can be really stressful and we want to help and support you as much as we can. There are national organisations that offer help or call or email us and we will help you take the first steps to managing debt.
