Lawley walkers benefit from Eileen Hewer fundPosted by donna, 13th April, 2022
Did you know grants can be awarded to existing or new community groups and organisations that are based in or benefit Lawley Residents? One recent awardee was the Lawley Walkers group who were granted £250 to go towards providing new tops for the group.
The group meet at 6.45pm every Wednesday starting at the rear of ACH Motors on Stainburn Road. They also have occasional weekend walks and sometimes include a fish and chip supper!
Recently Nick Freeman, Lawley Village Estates & Stewardship manager joined the group to hand over the cheque and joined them for the 5 mile walk.
Nick said: “Being able to support a group such as Lawley Walkers is great, they are a welcoming and friendly group, who have fun and keep themselves fit too. We all know what the British weather can be like, so it was a pleasure to be able to help them with new tops.”
Joanne Oliver who is one of the founding members of Lawley Walking Group said “we are delighted with our hoodies and are very grateful to the Eileen Hewer fund for supporting us. We always welcome new members, so if you’d like to join us please contact us via www.facebook.com/groups/957462457795606
