Lawley Management Committee
Lawley Management Committee (LMC) is a resident-led committee that oversees our estate and stewardship service, helping to make sure it reflects the needs and priorities of the local community.
The committee is made up of eight Lawley residents, who are directly elected by stewardship charge payers, alongside two members of BVT’s Executive Team.
Elections take place every two years, with the latest election held in 2026. We’re pleased to introduce the current committee members below, who have generously volunteered their time to represent the interests of the Lawley community.
Hi, I’m Jay and together with my wife, two children and our four-legged friend, we’ve lived in Lawley since 2018. We love living here and can often be found volunteering at local events in the community.
Like many people I didn’t really understand the services BVT provide, and it was the reason I joined the committee. Once I joined it became clear change was needed and thankfully as BVT wanted to listen to residents, change happened quite quickly, and I hope my contributions and that of my fellow committee members helped improve the service to us all as Lawley residents.
I’m delighted to be Chair of the committee and look forward to working with my fellow members to review the effectiveness of the management committee and raising the profile within the community, so it continues to strengthen the service.
Hi, I’m Kate and have lived in Lawley since 2014. I work as the Community Engagement Manager at the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust and in my spare time volunteer for Diabetes UK, Telford Aftercare team and the police.
I’m a wife, mom and nanny and my hobbies include fishing, crafting and growing cabbages!
I love living in Lawley and have watched the estates grow over the past ten years and love the diversity of our community. I want to ensure everyone can have their voice heard and believe my experience both professionally and through my voluntary roles will help support the management committee to listen to you. I want to make Lawley to be the best place to live in Telford and ensure residents are involved in decision making of their community.
Hi, I’m Emily and I moved to Lawley in 2022 having grown up nearby in Horsehay. I’m currently a tenant but excitingly in a couple of years will be a Lawley homeowner. My first ever job was in Morrisons in Lawley, so I’ve known the area for quite a while.
I work as a Fibre Network Planner for a national telecommunications company but like to keep myself busy outside of work with community activities.
In my spare time I’m involved with Lawley Scouts Group and recently completed my leadership training. I also actively support Telford First Responders by helping fundraise, share social media content and attending community events. I’ve also enjoyed volunteering at events such as the Lawley 5K fun run and Summerfest.
This is my first experience of being a committee member and I’m looking forward to learning more about BVT, becoming more involved with Lawley residents, and getting involved in community events. I’m planning on joining in with the estate dates when I can, to gain more knowledge about the estates and stewardship services BVT provides.
As I’m very keen on activities for young people, I’m looking forward to being able to support bringing in more opportunities and activities for them.
With my current experience as a tenant and my future one as a homeowner, I’ll be able to represent everyone, it’s important everyone has a voice.
Hi, I’m Mark, I’m a local lad and have lived in Dawley and Lawley most of my life. We first moved to Lawley in 2002 and last year moved to our new home in phase 10. I have three grown up children and five grandchildren. I’m a keen gardener, sportsman and fitness enthusiast.
My working life has been dedicated to public service and this year after more than 37 years I retired from West Mercia Police. Following retirement, I wanted to find something to keep me occupied as I’m always driven and motivated to resolve whatever tasks are asked of me. I’m a keen problem solver and have always worked with partners to find solutions. I’m looking forward to bringing my personal skills and experiences in providing practical advice and support to all members of the Lawley Village community while making a positive impact.
I’m particularly looking forward to playing an active part in the Lawley Village community with a focus on the maintenance and cleanliness of public areas and pavements. I want to work with the community in trying to reduce the amount of littering by getting involved in projects such as high visibility litter picking, cutting back trees and bushes and general weeding of pavements. I’m a firm believer that cleaner and tidy public areas act as a deterrent to those who wish to damage, deface, or litter those areas.
Hi, I’m Matt and I’ve lived in Lawley since 2007. I work in our local hospital as a pharmacist and have previously held senior operational roles in the healthcare sector. I have a young family who are passionate about the local area and the facilities it has to offer. I enjoy walking with them and our four- legged friend around the local area. We also spend time as a family at the local play parks. My escape is attempting to play golf at our local course.
I have previously worked on other committees and have enjoyed collaborating with members and ensuring the views of local communities are listened too. I was interested in joining the committee as in the past I’ve been frustrated by some of the services we receive from BVT and their contractors. I feel that by taking an active part in the committee I will gain a better understanding of what the money we pay for is used for and can help to make sure it is spent responsibly to benefit local residents.

I moved to Lawley in March 2025 after returning to the UK following 20 years living and working in Western Canada. Originally from the East Midlands, I’ve enjoyed discovering Telford and becoming part of the local community.
Before semi-retiring, I worked in financial services, and I now work part-time at Lidl. In my spare time I love hiking, exploring the local countryside and creating a wildlife-friendly garden. Volunteering has always been important to me, and I’ve previously served on the boards of several non-profit organisations, including a local museum and nature conservation society.
Since moving to Lawley, I’ve enjoyed getting involved through the Lawley Village Communications Forum, and I’m excited to now take a more active role as a member of the Management Committee.
I look forward to listening to residents, working alongside fellow committee members and helping to make positive decisions that benefit our community.

My professional background is in law, and I currently run my own business as a Will writer. I hold both a law degree and a master’s degree and have spent many years working in the legal profession. I also previously owned and managed a live music venue, giving me experience in running a business, organising events and working with a wide range of people.
Supporting communities has always been important to me. I previously led the residents’ group for an apartment block of 181 properties, helping residents with everything from day-to-day issues to resolving neighbour concerns. In my spare time, I’m a member of the Telford Steam Railway, combining my interest in local heritage with community involvement.
I’m looking forward to representing residents, listening to your views and working with fellow committee members to help shape the future of Lawley. I hope to use my experience in business, law and resident representation to support good decision-making, strengthen community engagement and help make Lawley an even better place to live.

I have lived in Lawley since 2020 and am a proud mum of three. I work full-time in the water industry, specialising in environmental management, and I’m passionate about protecting our green spaces and creating a sustainable environment for future generations.
Giving back to the community is important to me. Alongside my husband, I volunteer as a Scout Leader with Lawley Scouts, where our son is also a member. I also worked with BVT to establish Lawley’s first Baby Loss Awareness Week memorial, a project that is very close to my heart and reflects my commitment to supporting others and building a compassionate, inclusive community.
As a member of the Management Committee, I look forward to representing residents, listening to your views and helping to ensure Lawley remains a welcoming, thriving place to live. I’m excited to use my environmental expertise and community experience to help protect our local environment and support initiatives that benefit residents of all ages.
Pete is the Chief Executive of BVT. He oversees the overall strategic mission and aims of the Trust and works with the Board of Trustees to ensure our Business Plan is robust, carefully managed and ambitious. Pete is also responsible for the overall leadership of the organisation, leading the Executive team and is the Trust’s principal ambassador. A former chair of Birmingham’s Social Housing Partnership and commissioner of Birmingham Poverty Truth, Pete led Pioneer Group (formerly Castle Vale Community Housing Association) for 20 years before joining BVT. He also worked for Sanctuary Housing Association, William Sutton Trust (now Clarion Housing Group) and Walsall and Birmingham local authorities. He was appointed as Chief Executive of BVT in 2018.
Arthur has spent over 14 years’ in social housing, working across all fields including Community Safety in Birmingham. Having worked at Birmingham City Council for almost 10 years, he moved to BVT in 2017 and during that time moved from Head of Housing and Customer Services to Director of Communities with a wide remit of community development, estates and stewardship, housing and customer services and heritage.
He was also previously Birmingham City Councils nominate board member for Stockfield Community Association, Committee member on Lightmoor and Lawley Management Committee.
